What is C14500 Tellurium Copper?

According to the industrial development needs of the United States, tellurium bronze material, called C14500 under the American standard ASTM, was developed in the 1960s. Its content of 0.4-0.7% tellurium material gives it excellent machinability, as well as excellent conductivity, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, anti-electrode erosion, forgeability, castability, extrusion, drawing, and stamping molding.

Corresponding grades:

American ASTM: C14500  Chinese GB: QTe0.5  Japanese JIS: C1450

European standard EN: CW118C  German DIN: CuTeP  British BS: C109

C14500 tellurium copper is mainly used in precision electronic components requiring high conductivity, corrosion resistance, electric motors, advanced electromechanical parts, plumbing fittings, forgings and thread cutting parts, electrical contact parts, welding and cutting advanced torch nozzles, and switch components.

In recent years, with the vigorous promotion of new energy vehicles in the country, the construction of charging piles has flourished, and new indicators have emerged for the service life, safety performance, and arc resistance of charging pile contact materials. Since 2010, due to the excellent electrical properties and easy processing characteristics of tellurium copper, it has been widely used in the field of high-current connectors for new energy vehicles.

Jintian Copper is one of the top copper rod suppliers in China, focusing on the copper processing field for over 30 years. It has a stable supply capacity of tellurium copper rods and is committed to providing comprehensive copper material solutions for strategic emerging industries such as 5G communication, new energy vehicles, rail transit, power Internet of Things, and smart cities. It has built seven major production bases in Ningbo Headquarters, Hangzhou Bay, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Chongqing, Vietnam, and Baotou, and has established branches in Hong Kong, the United States, Germany, Japan, Thailand, and South Korea, among other places.
